On the surface, it's plausible. The uncounted ballots are all mail-in ballots. It's the Red Mirage/Blue Mirage phenomenon all over again: One party said to vote mail-in if you could, the other said to vote on Election Day and make sure you cough on each other while you're there for freedom's sake. So the gap between Election Day ballots and mail-in/early vote/absentee has been absolutely astounding.

But in states where there was *already* a big mail-in tradition among Republicans, that effect hasn't been as large (Arizona being one). So ... probably not but what else were you gonna keep an eye on for the next two weeks?

Couple of questions - if a state ends in a tie - who gets the EVs? And I'm always curious why the first 80 percent of a vote can take hours, but the last 20 percent takes days (Mail or no mail) particularly in close races. Do they not bother tracking down disputed/provisional ballots if they won't make a difference?

I'm reminded of that preacher who predicted the world would end on a certain date about 10 years ago. One of our reporters said he was interviewing someone who believed it. I said he should ask the source to sign over his car and any real estate he owned.

One side or the other asking for a recount in Georgia seems inevitable.

It's going to be close enough it seems.

Scott Walker tweeting re Wisconsin 'ah, maaybe no?' was hilarious.

It's different reasons everywhere. Sometimes it's because that state's mail ballots have to be opened by hand. One of the reasons Nevada is going slow is because some of the ballots arrived weeks ago and have been sitting in a warehouse so long that their creases have become really hard to flatten out and feed through the optical scanners.

It always takes states forever to count the last little bit. The last little bit is just a lot bigger in some states because of the pandemic making people choose to vote early.
