That bitch triggers me the way Hat Man triggers most people on this board. I swear I would reflexively rabbit-punch her in the umbo if I was ever unfortunate enough to be in the same room with her. Same goes for Betsey DeVos.

Interviewed him a long time ago. He seemed like a nice guy. Sorry to hear he might have been a sleaze.

Also, if you haven't yet, try to get your hands on a copy of "Slimed! An Oral History of the Golden Age of Nickelodeon." It's almost as good as the volumes Shales and Miller produced on SNL and ESPN.

Always missing out on the fun. I was part of a group that did it to see if the movie version of The Thorn Birds was as good as the book. Y'all had Shannon Tweed late at night and Phoebe Cates in Fast Times and we girls had to settle for Mom's book club edition of The Thorn Birds and Richard Chamberlain, who we always knew batted for the home team.

I hope it was beneficial for both schools. Kendall produced some interesting artists.

You should have asked Nina Hartley. She's smart, funny, and generous with interviewers. I'm working right now or I'd look for her interview with Kate McKinnon. It is safe for work and hilarious, I just don't want my boss to see me looking for those terms.

I am somewhat surprised the NAACP hasn't renamed itself at some point.

Saving this one for down the road when higher taxes and no new vaccines aren't giving the market a bump.

The next trading day, a vaccine was announced 90 minutes before the markets opened.

Not even Jan. 20, and the blindfolds are already on.

Oscar, I will counter that "Slimed!" was my least favorite read of 2020, haha. It badly needed a better editor. There are some interesting stories in there, but the book just jumps around so much that it is tough to follow. I'm hoping someone else tackles the subject at some point.

School district I covered in rural pennsyltucky had to have a big meeting for parents AND TEACHERS about the kids AND TEACHERS using the word “colored” in class and on papers and exams. I can only imagine reading a research paper on “the importance of Martin Luther King to colored people.”

Story my mother tells about me:

I went to first grade in a private school in Houston in the mid-60s while Dad was at Mission Control. President at the time was Lyndon B. Johnson, so on his birthday, we were given an image of his portrait and supposed to color it in. I apparently just drew black all over his face, which resulted in a call from the puzzled and embarrassed teacher to my mother.

When asked why I decided the President should be, uh, colored in such a fashion, I supposedly replied, "Because the flash didn't go off."

(My mother STILL can't take a decent photo, even with her phone. Most families hear, "Say Cheese." We laugh that the two words most spoken back then were, "Oh, Damn!")
