When you hear "The President just pardoned his former campaign chairman" and your first thought is "Which one?"

 

Dude seems to know a lot of criminals.

 

Exactly. I despise Trump but the Constitution gives the president the power to pardon. There’s no ambiguity.

 

Our system places outlandishly excessive good faith in the chief executive and assumes he will not be a trash human being.

For a group of cynics that was one large leap to make, and we're paying for it.

 

They thought that individual ambition of other politicians would be a check on it. They never imagined the cowardice of people like Cruz

My question for the story, which is paywalled, is how Trump's cronyism pardon count compares to other presidents. I presume the story answers that question.
