And you could lose your job tomorrow, too.

This is not the time to be saying, "Hey, I'm doing just fine."

    And the sign said
    "F*ck your feelings"
    So I like my feelings
And thus went up to him and
He said, "All liberals are lizard people"
So I backed away and said, "Imagine thinking I'm
    the crazy one"
    Whoa
    Signs, signs
    Everywhere a sign
    Blockin' out the scenery
    Breakin' my mind
    Do this, don't do that
    Can't you read the sign?

    And the sign said
    "Stop the steal"
So I walked over and yelled
"Hey! Where were you in 2016?
    Why didn't you care then?"
    Signs, signs
    Everywhere a sign
    Blockin' out the scenery
    Breakin' my mind

The sign said, "Welcome to Doral Country Club"
So I walked up to the gate and shouted:
"He's stealing from the very people he promised to help"
    Uh
    And the sign said
    "Biden/Harris 2020"
And when they asked for a donation, I gave what little I had
I said, "Thank you, I hope this helps beat the devil."

Has the military strike against Iran occurred yet? No? OK I’ll check back in a while.

It's bifurcated. There are people for whom work at home allowed them to save significant sums of money in their budgets -- my son and his fiancee are two of 'em. Stop eating in NYC and the bank balance grows. Same for gym memberships and such. But if you were a restaurant worker or bartender, you likely ended the year either unemployed or with the loss of half to 90 percent of your annual income. If the idea is to get money to people as quickly as possible, you HAVE to ship it out to everybody no matter what their current economic situation. Otherwise, there's endless delay. I'll bet a significant percentage of this board has had the fun experience in normal times of applying for unemployment. Now imagine that system choked with 3-4 times its normal volume.

Did Republicans worry about sending money to people who didn’t need it when GWB sent everybody checks?

I'm sure this board applauded him for it.

Well, when you put it that way, why does anyone need to collect unemployment if they lose their job? After all, they're getting an extra 70 hours a week at home that they were previously only getting paid 40 for anyways. Time is money, you know.

You have a valid point with savings from working from home. But I would think it would be more costly in time and money for the government to figure out who needs the $2K more than others than it would to just pay out the $2K per person. And, like it was said above, it's a small price for combat pay.

Remember when the Republicans rolled out means tests for the tax cuts? The Koch brothers are still angry about not getting a break.

Spend it. Buy yourself something. That’s what it’s for — to stimulate the economy. Go out and stimulate it.

I’m going to pay my rent with it. If you want to send me yours, that’s fine too.
