    I want to believe the former rather than the later because down-ballot Republicans did better than Trump. In many other states, Georgia keeps its two Republican senators on election night, but the 50-percent threshold screwed them.

    The cynic in me says Dems were more enthusiastic to show up for this election and it isn't a trend. Trumpism may yet survive in 24. Hell, an incumbent as unpopular at Trump should have killed his party and yet the GOP gained in the House and except for runoffs in Georgia would have only been minus 1 in the Senate and held the majority.

    We'll see what the next 4 years hold and if there is a schism in the Republican Party that actually leads to a center-right third party.
