So ... we don't and let him run around fomenting more division and violence. He didn't learn his lesson after he retained power in spite of being impeached.

At what point do you think this becomes acceptable? And if he isn't prosecuted, the behavior of his believers and the cult as a whole will get worse. Short of thousands of people dying on the scene at Capital Hill, it's difficult to imagine this getting much worse.
