Only five House members have ever been expelled, and only two of them have been tossed since the start of the Civil War.
In 1983, one member of each party was found to have had improper relations with House pages, and they were merely censured.
Expulsion requires a two-thirds majority. Not happening.

I don't know if Pence is worthy of admiration for doing his duty or scorn for waiting until now find his spine and live up to his oath. I'm sure some part of his brain figured Trump wouldn't last the entire four years.

Is it odd that I'm hoping Dick Cheney still has some moves left to make? I figure it's only a matter of months before McCarthy is tossed as GOP House leader and replaced by Mary.

She'd have to win an election within her klan. And after having the audacity to claim that the Lord and Savior is responsible for yesterday's events, she'll need her own security detail as well.

 

"A near-universal view that he's unhinged" is precisely why he's safe, unfortunately. If anything else happens, he'll tweet his angst to his klan and encourage them to repeat Wednesday -- only with guns and bombs.
