Life comes at you fast, especially when you're tweeting instead of running the nation.

Impotence jokes aside, Lahren (and Palin and many, many others) are at the center of the whole argument. Whether you're conservative or liberal, you want to have someone tell you that your viewpoint is normative and that the people who oppose your viewpoints are freaks, fools, morally defective, etc. I've seen it from both sides. As a churchgoing liberal, I've been proof-texted 16 ways to Sunday on human sexuality issues. But damn it, when Franklin Graham tried to find scriptural justification for refusing refugees, damn it if I didn't like being able to proof-text him back (so to speak). Very few people want to be bullies, but just about everyone would rather be the bully's sidekick than the bullied.

As much as conservatives like to drop the "snowflake" defense, I'd argue they started it. Can't have their little snowflakes learn how a uterus works from anyone other than their Sunday School teacher. Not fair that they don't get to have their favorite prayers read over the loudspeaker at their public school, et cetera, et cetera. Liberals do it too. Frankly, it's bigger than politics -- goes to sociology and psychology. With the Internet and 500 cable channels, there are no general audiences, and when there are no general audiences, there is no common good to agree on.

In short, Tomi Lahren has made a fair chunk of change for telling old white conservatives whose feelings have been hurt that society no longer completely reflects their worldview that liberals are pussies, while looking good doing it. The fact that she may or may not believe 100 percent of the gospel is only incidental. It's nice work if you can get it, I suppose.

Geez, didn't they just let people use cellphones and laptops during takeoff and landing like last week?

If those words scare her right now, she's a bigger partisan hack than even I had thought. And the same goes for you.
