    Speculation is what cable news people get paid to do. Otherwise, they'd have about six minutes of coverage on an endless loop every day.

    That's the problem. Sean Spicer can deny it but his words carry no authority. The people in the administration have been caught in so many lies at this point that nobody believes any of them.

    Neither story was "reported".

    But both were repeated in a number of places.

    It's silly to talk about the credibility of the denial when there's no credibility to the story.

    But she said she had "sources." Case study No. 2,786,678 of what happens when you take experts on a single topic and they think they're journalists. Happens in sports more than news, probably, but it's everywhere.
