CNN reporting the U.S. got other nations on board to support bombing the Syrian base. One country obviously not supporting--Russia.

If Putin says no and Assad does it anyway, then Assad is on his own and Allah help him.

Yep. He's loving this. He gets to order military action and watch his popularity improve. And that is all he cares about.

Not sure it improves his popularity much. A week from now, what will be the effect? It's just another airstrike and the US does those every day and has for years. I disagree with BTExpress much of the time, but his position that the American political elite is bloodthirsty is quite valid. Or as George Carlin said more than 20 years ago, the one thing this country can still do well is bomb the shit out of brown people.

 

Just saw Trump's address from Florida. Sure invoked God a bunch. We'll see how that plays in Raqqa.

 

One more detail. Been reported Russia was informed of the strike in advance. So it is quite possible we just bombed an empty air base.

 

At least Kerry lost to somebody with experience in government. Clinton lost at a very precarious time in our nation's history, putting the nuclear codes in the small hands of an insecure know-nothing. Trump could get us all killed.

 

At least we know that if you want to get on Ttump's good side, all you have to do is breathe in poison gas.
