I guess when Obama went to Hawaii every December that would be a more expensive trip, but then he stayed there a few weeks. Whether Hawaii or Florida, though, the expenses for Secret Service and other security shouldn't be that much different.

 

As was posted above, Obama's total vacation time over 8 years is estimated at $98m. Trump is on pace to spend that in his first year. $24m+ so far, and that does not include coverage for Trump Tower and security for his separated wife.

I would think that the cost of security would depend on how many people were in the Presidential party and how easily secured the lodging area was. A vacation home that could be isolated is different from a large compound with numerous other people staying there, golfers coming and going, etc.

No, it isn't just about hypocrisy, but that is certainly enough reason to keep pointing it out over and over again. You are still whining about campaign promises Obama made before his first time, but we're suppose to stop noticing when Trump breaks one of his constantly four months into his term? No wonder his hypocrisy doesn't bother you given that you are every bit as bad.

Aside from taking away time from governing, which Trump himself said was an issue, the broken promises damage his credibility even further. He is also using the office to line his own pockets.
