What does a one BR, one bath in Trump Tower cost? $5k a month? The Secret Service is going to have to rent a whole floor to get enough space for all they have going on to protect the President and his family.

Well, let's see... there will be whatever is done with regard to the air space and planes overhead. Any subway that's anywhere close is going to have to be hardened and surveilled. Same for the street frontage, because as things stand a truck bomb can be driven close enough to the building to make it vulnerable to an Oklahoma City style attack. The Secret Service is going to need space inside the Trump Tower for what, a hundred agents of the protective detail, plus the surveillance of the area, plus communications, plus offices and desks for the detail. That's probably going to mean taking over a full floor plus various checkpoints and guard stations inside. How much does even a small apartment in that building go for per month?

I understand that he and his family want to have somewhere to go outside the White House, but his place in Palm Beach or at the golf course would be easier and cheaper to secure. GWB went to his ranch in South Texas, and it was one helluva lot less expensive to secure. The choice that Trump makes has a whole lot to do with what it costs, that's why it matters where he lives.

 

There's a reason the Secret Service loved it that Obama loved the Vineyard. Securing a resort island is easy.

 

Yeah, this is the man who will rebuild American business and industry - the guy who specializes in buying bankrupt steel mills and coal mines, breaking up the companies involved and selling off the pieces. I'm brimming with confidence that he's the right pick to rebuild our economy.

Eventually enough of this stuff will pile up and the Trump voters will start to figure out how badly they got conned.
