You are trying to reason with someone who actively seeks out fake news.

Correct, it is still a far cry from those idiotic things. But the NY Times shouldn't even find itself even close to those type of comparisons.

And they aren't, except in the minds of people who are too stupid to know the difference.

What? Check a story in the era of tweet now, ask questions later?

I agree that the Times was lazy with the tweet and should not have been looking for a cheap gotcha. But were there not many more no shows than the previous visit? I might be wrong but I thought there were actually many fewer attendees.

No. Did you read the story?

The team pointed out that 36 players were in the House the last time the team won two Super Bowls in three years. On Wednesday, there were 34. Patriots spokesman Stacey James told the Times that Wednesday’s turnout was about the same as when George W. Bush was president and hosted the team in 2004 and 2005. James added that more than 45 players attended in 2002, after the franchise won its first Super Bowl, and that nearly 50 attended in 2015.

Weren't the photos 2015 and this year? If 50 players attended in 2015 and only 34 showed up Wednesday, that's a significant decline.
