Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, dodges the question 10 times:
"Will people with preexisting conditions see their premiums rise under this new bill?"

 

Were their premiums not going to continue to rise under the current system?

 

The question isn't even the right one.

If you're a big consumer of health care, premiums are the least of your concerns.

What's the deductible? What's the total out of pocket?

Am I still going to have access to the care team I've come to rely on?

 

If they'd had cancer, were they going to rise $50k a year? Was there going to be an annual limit? A lifetime limit?

 

Another evasive tactic. Do you work for her?

 

Those increases are OK.

 

Businesses help comprise the market.

Humans hoodwink humans - and humans are hoodwinked by other humans - on a daily basis.

The market has as many flaws as humans do. Which is to say, many.

 

You're right. We should all use he/she as a general descriptor so no one is offended.
