The last time I had health insurance it was through a company in the great state of Delaware, someplace I've never set foot in. Larger companies are allowed to run their insurance out of whatever state they wish. All it will take is one state, say a Mississippi or Wyoming, to decide it wants to grab a few pennies by allowing insurers to lard on pre-existing conditions again, and your employer plan will suddenly revert to the bad old days even if you live in the brightest blue bubble imaginable.

 

Your policy out of Delaware still had to meet your state's standards.

 

Indeed. My last policy before Medicare was from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. But it was kosher by Mass. laws and regs.
