I was reminded what true public service careers look like by the hiring of Robert Mueller for the investigation. This is an administration that generally sneers at people who have devoted their lives to public service and public policy and has few, if any, real friends or counsel with extraordinary credentials, experience or intellectual heft. It operates with the anti-intellectualism necessary to advance alternative narratives, ignore issues and deny facts. So instead of the best and the brightest, or some reasonable attempt to include the people who have real achievements and have risen to the top by way of merit, we end up with this:

    Here's the better question...

Trump was long a Democrat. Supported Dems. Donated to folks like Schumer and Clinton.

Now, as we saw in the Republican party primary, folks hated Ted Cruz so much, that even when he was the ladt guy with a chance to beat Trump, even his fellow Senators refused to get behind him.

So, let's imagine a scenario where The Donald runs in the Democratic Primary, and with his blue collar appeal wins the nomination.

Now, the shoe's on the other foot.

Who do Dems like @Riptide, @outofplace and @jr/shotglass vote for with Trump as the Dem nominee vs. Ted Cruz?

What about vs. Rubio, or Jeb!, or Rand Paul?

Rubio Jeb and Paul easily. Cruz reluctantly.

Randian assholes and old money patricians are far preferable to actual insanity and the rise of the neofascist

I would vote for the devil over Ted Cruz.

Not a Dem, but I'd take a hard pass at Cruz, and vote against Trump otherwise.

Trump would've been laughed out of a Democratic primary within a month.

I reject your premise. It is not a better question. It is further from reality than asking what Trump voters would do if given the chance to vote again now. It is yet another attempt by you to distract from the troubles and failures of the Trump administration.

Notre Dame has over 8,000 undergraduates.

Now, they don't let you dick around and take forever to graduate, so we can assume there were more than 1,500 undergraduates receiving their degree, along with a couple of hundred post graduates.

(Times says 2,081 students were getting degrees:

The protest began as Mr. Pence began his remarks at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind., where degrees were conferred on 2,081 students. Online video of the ceremony showed a large number of young people filing out of the stadium as the vice president began to congratulate the graduates and their families. Around them, the audience erupted into a mixture of boos and applause.

The couple of dozen students who walked out surely disrupted the ceremony of their fellow graduates. It was rude and selfish. If you want to argue that it was still worth it, fine. But, let's not pretend that they didn't make the day about themselves instead of the entire graduating class.

Yes. When the show was over.

Pence was not rude in this example at all.

Yeah, wouldn't want anyone making someone else's graduation day all about them...
