Nope. It was, however, an enormous amount of compensation/hours billed for a report that had little in the way of credible, actionable evidence. He embarrassed himself.

Can't be much clearer. Would have felt slimy voting for Cruz, but I considered Trump a joke from the start.

Do you believe many of us had a moment of "Trump isn't good, but he's better than Candidate X"? Uh-uh.

So Smith is asked to conduct task X for Y dollars. He conducts task X, receives Y dollars, and somehow embarrassed himself because he didn't also do Z?

Yeah. They made a political statement. Sorry if it was rude. Funny how the GOP is suddenly the party of prim and proper.

That's pretty rude, by the way. You seem to be against that sort of thing so I wanted you to know.

Well the important thing is that the other side is guilty of something that isn't at all the same thing but kinda sorta feels similar.

Of course, by saying that (in a live press conference photo op, mind you), Trump confirmed that the intel he passed along did come from Israel - something no U.S. official had admitted previously. With it unconfirmed, there was at least some small shred of safety left for the undercover Mossad agent embedded with ISIS who recovered the intel. So Trump's smug, useless remark probably signed the death warrant for an ally's intel asset.

EDIT: It wasn't a formal press conference - it was a photo op. Reporters shouted questions at Trump and he went back and answered (with Bibi there). He took it upon himself to make the statement, which makes it even worse, IMHO. Just a cascading, awful series of unforced errors.

He was commissioned to investigate the use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball.

Your evidence of him "embarrassing himself" is that he didn't catch anyone with a syringe sticking out of their ass (actionable evidence!). ... and he was paid well to do to the investigation. In your estimation, he embarrassed himself just by taking on the task.

I thought what was in his report was highly credible, even if the scope was probably very limited by the evidence he was actually able to gather. And that is not just in terms of the evidence he was able to gather with regard to some specific players, but including his pointing out that since they had started testing, HGH had become the drug of choice because it was undetectable.

At least Mitchell didn't frame Ryan Braun, as far as we can tell.

    dear god

His entire political existence is based upon unapologetic, unrepentant, undisguised, utterly triumphant racism.

    the end.

Trump was a Democrat because that's the label you used in NYC in the late 70s and 80s if you wanted to be a big swinging dick and get deals done. You could freelance a lot of your actual beliefs, but the label mattered. If he had set out to build his empire in Orange County, Calif., during the same time, he'd have been Republican for the same reasons.
