Oh the hell it does. Reporters are humans. When one gets body-slammed, you bet your ass it's going to draw nationwide attention. The more journalists on something, the more covered it gets, the more exposed the subject is. I've said as much about Trump.

Journalism is not without fault nor are journalists. If you're one, you know this, and your protest is...well, I don't know what service it is, other than yet another pissing match.

It's like Derek Smalls, asking if the band will play Stonehenge again.

Depends on state law. But in some places, yes.

The thing is, "your side" is much worse in this regard.

Not that I consider Richard Spenser any kind of political ally, but when he was sucker punched on a street corner in D.C., folks on the left cheered, and spoke of a Nazi exception to their pacifist beliefs.

Sean Hannity has gotten killed by conservatives for pushing conspiracy theories regarding the killing of Seth Rich, but Harry Reid can make up political lies, have his lies exposed, and still defend his actions.

Maybe when you're pissed off and know you're on to something, you work 65 hours a week while being paid for 40 instead of working 60 hours a week while being paid for 40.

Never in this case (Republican politician vs. reporter.) The gun nuts would suddenly go quiet.

If only we had a president that has spoken out against getting violent with the media ...

Canvassers for Quist, the Democrat, are playing the audio tape as they go door to door.

Kind of how the NRA doesn't like acknowledging it supported gun control after the Black Panthers showed carrying rifles in California.

Journalists are all patting themselves on the back for their adversarial relationship they have with the Trump administration.

Where was this during the Obama years? It's a joke. The Obama administration had contempt for the press. Were terrible with FOIA requests. Tried to put journalist in jail, collected their phone records, and were met with adulation, and attempts to curry favor.

I couldn't care less. I'm an ex journalist. I know self-hating current journalists or just big ol pains in the ass journalists who work in the field and act like it's the gum on their shoe.

It isn't about one's standing but what they write. I spend very little time wondering about what people do or "who's played the game." But I don't have a lot of patience for people who seem to have so little grace and appreciation for the profession, yet hang around constantly, firing off grinch shots.

Am I wrong here or is this an egregious error?

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A reporter said the Republican candidate for Montana’s sole congressional seat “body-slammed” him Wednesday, the day before the special election.

Montana has two Senators. This thug and conservative hero is a candidate for the state's sole House of Representatives seat. But Montana has three seats in the entirety of the Congress. Right?

Well, there were right-wing journalists, some of whom said Obama was born in Kenya. Didya forget em?
