Or maybe her tender loving father will bounce her on his lap again.

 

The majority-Republican Iowa Supreme Court ruled 6-1 in favor of the "parents" under existing state law.

I think this is despicable. But it's not a partisan issue. It's a legal one.

 

Not sure why this would upset you. I don't take offense to the endless parade of posts on the flip side, which outnumber mine about 200 to 1.

Also, "Modern American liberal" and abortion are two of my things. Not going to feel bad for trying to get people debating/arguing issues I'm passionate about.

 

This particular case, yes. These particular people, no.

 

No arguing the doctor didn't do his job. But we also agree on the despicableness.

 

Life is tough enough for disabled children without their parents wishing they were dead.

 

IIRC, abortions based on fetal abnormalities are banned in at least one or two states.

Some others, I believe, exempt doctors from liability for withholding that information - which is absolutely not the effective way to deal with this.

 

The percentage of parents who don't think it at some point is probably pretty small. You have to be a pretty big asshole to say it out loud.
