Why is okay for the Republican Party Majority in the Senate to suppress the text of their healthcare overhaul bill? Horrendous example of the state of our government.

 

It's absolutely noteworthy that it takes crossing into one of the absolute worst places on the globe for a white kid to experience what lots of Americans live with every day: one small mistake, or even no mistake and a bad day from an authority figure, can have horribly unjust consequences.

Framing this broader point as "he was no angel" still makes you an asshole. The left has never been short of them.

My opinions on Trump are no secret, but I hesitate to criticize any President when North Korea is the topic because our options are so limited as to be nonexistent. Doing nothing but asking the Chinese to help and imposing sanctions doesn't work. Negotiating with North Korea wouldn't work because they don't want an agreement. Without an external threat to rally against, the regime would be in serious trouble. And we can't take military action without starting a war in which millions would perish and that might well lead to war with China. There's nothing he did in this case that any other President wouldn't also have done.

 

Well, to be fair, Obama didn't get him home.
