You know there's a sequel to Monster at the End of This Book, right? It co-stars Elmo, so your opinion on him will probably drive your opinion of the book, but my kids loved when I would switch between the voices.

I'm pro Elmo, so might check it out. My Elmo voice is not the equal of my Grover voice, though... Do one thing and do it well, that's my motto.

Granddaughter is due in less than a month, very much looking forward to reading to her. The former is a reading specialist and has a collection of children's books that rivals anything anywhere so Avery won't lack for stuff to be read to her all the time.

Did you notice how this incident led to a retraction and job losses?

Did you notice how they didn't insist that it was technically true based on some ridiculous parsing of words fed to them by Rush Limbaugh, then try to deflect by bringing up Hillary Clinton?

That's what makes even shitty cable news better than whatever it is you're doing.

This one is contraversial in our house.

Women get told to smile all the time, by strangers even. Let the fish be. Let him feel his feelings. Maybe he doesn't want to smile.

Oh, man, it's a blast (as I'm sure you know from you first time through). My kid is in a phase right now where he's not super into finishing books. He'll get a book for you, sit on your lap, then a couple pages in, close it, say "all done," get up, and get a new book. Lather, rinse, repeat for like 6 more books.

I'm not well into the details, but even if all the Medicaid expansion was eliminated, there'd still be a buttload of other money there. Taxes the imagination to think that we'd wind up with largely the same number of uninsured as we'd have had the ACA never been enacted.

We had 20 trillion books around the house and every night I'd tell my son to pick one and we'd read it before going to bed. And every night for like months he'd pick Clifford the Big Red Dog. You sure? We have LOTS of other books. "But I love Clifford the Big Red Dog." Ok, then. Who doesn't love Clifford the Big Red Dog?

My daughter was into Jack Perlutsky poems so I'd have to untie my tongue before going to bed myself.

That is awesome. I have got to be at least 20 years older than your son. ... and my "every night" book when I was little was. ... Clifford the Big Red Dog. I feel validated, knowing it stood the test of time.

My son is 33 - so no, you're not THAT old. But your point remains valid
