When we sold our house a few years ago we interviewed two real estate agents, one American, the other Russian. The American was a bubbly, walking, talking billboard advertising her selling prowess. The Russian was extremely low-key. To my surprise, wife said we should go with the American. House sold in eight days . . . but mainly because of an extremely desirable location.

And all of this is still OK with Trumpland.

At least we're done with "There was no collusion" and "you can't prove collusion" and even "collusion isn't illegal" and into "It's a good thing he did it."

    He wasn't Careful.

You gotta Be Careful or you might wake up some morning feeling strangely suicidal.

That's the bottom line. About 40 percent of Americans do not want a democracy, just a country where their side holds power perpetually by any means necessary.

Naah, I don't think so. And I don't think that 40 percent are all Republicans. But the impulse to stick with the tribe when it's in trouble is very strong.
