That's the problem. When Trump said he was self-funding, you took him literally, not seriously.

GOP Chairman of House Social Security Subcommittee introduced a bill to cut benefits immediately for everyone and raise retirement age to 69. All those old white folks who voted for Trump because they're frightened and angry about their own mortality and thought he could at least get the nonwhites off their lawns are now going to get to die poorer as well.

Welp, years of working in newspapers for nothing and having to dip into my 4o1K to offset the losses from furloughs means I didn't really start saving properly for retirement until age 40, so I'm sure I'll be working until 75 anyway.

Huge majorities of Trump voters believe he won both popular and electoral vote by a landslide, that polls were altered to hurt him, that Russia had no role in election and that current polls on Trump are lies. In short, they reject all reality they don't like. Too bad for them reality always bats last.

It's been said before but retired folks living on a fixed income - no matter their political stripe - can do math like bandits. If Fermat's Last Theorem were somehow tied into Medicare Plan B, it would have been solved back in 1983.

In other words, this won't be popular.
