Skinny repeal is the one that removed the individual mandate but not the pre-existing condition mandate, right?

That's the worst, dumbest solution from almost any angle you want to come at it. Color me surprised this is where we'd end up.

It's unfucking real. It really is. You can't cover pre-existing conditions without the mandate. You just can't. One doesn't work without the other, and that just seems so simple.

Insurance companies have to be absolutely beside themselves.

So what are these Senators going to do when the Skinny Repeal bill hits the House, who promptly approves it, sends it to the President's desk and declares victory?

 

I'm assuming someone will come up with a spin or explanation for how this goes anything but collapse the entire individual insurance industry. I'm waiting to hear it.
