Nope. Not at all. It's never OK for any nation to fuck with the elections of another nation. Not Russia. Not the United States. Not anyone.

I'm just not surprised that someone would try to do it to us, given our long history of doing it to others.

 

I actually agree with this, but here's the thing. It always backfired on us because people in other countries really resented it. Overthrowing Mossadegh led to the Ayatollah, etc. It's gonna backfire on Putin (and by extension Trump), too.

 

It absolutely might. Common sense says take the devil you know over the devil you don't know. Russia chose the devil it doesn't know. And in a way, America did, too.

 

then stop using it to justify the reprehsible, immature and disgusting behavior of trump. And I don't mean you personally because, really, who cares what a message board poster writes. But the Blind obedience to trump is quite frightening. I get it from the mindless assholes on Fox and Friends & Hannity, but real people are paying attention to trump and acting like facts and truth are pliable and fungible with opinion and assertions.

But everything is Obama did it, Clinton did it. So we are going to do it.

He's their future commander-in-chief. They're not going to boo him or be silent upon fear of being put on permanent latrine/head duty.

Russia pretty much invented disinformation. Even the word comes from the Russian: dezinformatsiya. Remember Potemkin villages?

They did the same sort of computer hacking and false news in Western Europe and it worked pretty well for them. They stepped it up a notch and did it to us, and in a general sense no one seems to give a shit. If the NSA and other U.S. hackers are taking vengeance somehow, they are deliberately keeping it low profile and not saying so publicly.

I never thought the day would come that Russia could make an overt attack on our electoral processes and no one, particularly the Republicans, would so much as say boo about it. I can't fathom this.
