You got older, and with your expanded wisdom, voted for a president who is a national embarrassment. He's signal to the world that the citizens of our country, who are responsible for electing the embarrassment, are a joke.

The "ugly American" has always been a thing, but there has never been a better postermanchild than this fucking idiot, who happens to hold the most powerful office in the world.

You should be embarrassed, but you're proud. That makes me very sad.

They were "itching" to vote so much that 1.1 percent fewer of them voted for Trump than the previous GOP candidate.

But that's not his fault! Yes, the citizens of our country are a violent, smug, narcissistic, self-important, entitled joke who somehow think they are "exceptional" vis a vis the citizens of other countries.

But they were that way before Trump and would have been that way had he never existed. He just provided a vehicle for them to shout "We are here!" instead of hiding behind the usual pabulum candidates.

Instead of blaming Trump, blame the money-crazed, me-first, fuck-what's-better-for-the-group culture that he represents. Any candidate that tells its voters that they need to put the interests of society first and their own individual interests second is DOA.

Trum[ won because the media prefaced every political report with the phrase "missing emails" "Benghazi" or Clinton investigation " because they wanted to seem fair and didnt want partisan FoxNews to consider them partisan. Trump didnt need Russia, he had Wolf Blitizter and George Stephanapolis bending over backwards so as to not accuse Trump of being a money launderer for terrorists, Russia gangersters and oligarchs.

And the cumulative drumbeat effect got to the point that when Comey announced in the final days of the campaign that there was no evidence to justify criminal charges against HRC, the low information nation said, "see, the FBI is talking about Clinton again!! More smoke!! She must be guilty of something!"

The reaction to Trump's win, and the excuse making for Clinton's loss, is best thing Trump could wish for looking ahead to 2020.

Calling every Trump voter dumb or racist won't bring them back to the Democratic Party, and the efforts to bring out more democratic voters might please @RickStain, but it will also push more voters out of the party.

Oh no. How could Democrats possibly win in 2020 without poaching some of Trump's 45%?!

They don't need to poach Trump voters to win.

Fun fact: Trump's 2016 vote total would not have beaten Obama's 2012 vote total in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin or Michigan. Only in PA would it have even been close, and that's despite drawing from a larger population four years ago.

Anyone who says a Democratic candidate needs to appeal to Trump voters to win is actually just expressing what they personally want policy-wise.

Clinton couldn't turn out the Obama coalition, no more or less.

The idea that Obama voters switched to Trump is more anecdotal than real. Sure there were some, because out of 13o plus million votes there's going to be every possibility covered, but Trump got a lower percentage of the overall vote than Romney and not much higher a percentage than McCain. There have been a million stories on Trump voters after the election and every one has me thinking, "what are the Gary Johnson voters thinking right now." It's possible Trump could win them, but it's also possible he could turn them into Democratic voters in 2020. That's five percent of the electorate, enough to get Trump re-elected or swamp him in a landslide.
