    You can't gerrymander a majority.

You can gerrymander a vicious ideological minority core whose financial backers run the majority.

The real crime in gerrymandering is inflicted on the party for which the district is gerrymandered. It stifles diversity within a party.

Both parties gerrymander and Dems do it when they're in power. What has changed is two things. First, the GOP brilliantly targeted 2010 statehouse races specifically to get control of redistricting following the census. Second, the tremendous improvement in geospatial analytical tools between 2000 and 2010 allowed the parties controlling redistricting to maximize their advantage to extremes we've never seen before.

Both parties did it after the 2010 census. But because of the first point, the Republicans were able to do it in a much greater number of states.

When North Korea doesn't attack - because they never were going to attack - are we going to have to suffer a round of, "It's a Trump success!! He made the North Koreans back down!!!"?

You know, you're right! I haven't gotten any mail for the last eighteen months. I wondered what was up with that...
