Very bad choice of words, indeed.

Right, which I noted in my first post. They'd have been much better off from the get-go saying, "the cause is undetermined; an investigation is under way."

Or "it was a helicopter assigned to patrol the area of the rally. The cause of the crash is unknown."

Oh for God's sake ... do you know how terrible (relatively speaking) pilots of that sort are? All those "Life Assist" helicopter pilots are God-awful. Not saying that's what happens here, bit the most likely explanation ... BY FAR ... is pilot error.

I'm pretty sure the accident rates for helicopter pilots are far lower than most surface-vehicle drivers. In other words, helicopter crashes are not routine everyday occurrences.

And of course there are legal reasons they probably don't want to say pilot error was the cause, as well. Unless they have cast-iron evidence.

They'd have really been best from the get-go with only the basic facts: the helicopter crashed while responding to the rally, but there is currently no indication of foul play and an investigation would continue. The end.

You really believe that a bunch of dipshit white supremacists had the wherewithal (and willingness) to shoot down a police helicopter ... but their weapon choice against a crowd of counter-protesters was an Ohioan in a Dodge?

You're not only a fucking moron (which is universally accepted here), I think you might be brain damaged. Show me one fucking thing I have defended Trump on. He's a piece of shit.
