That's part of it. I think another huge part is they are suckers for a strongman bully who acts out domination rituals. Something is broken inside of them, inside many Trump supporters, that causes them to crave that, to need it to fill a hole in their lives and beat back insecurity that gnaws on them. It's an almost-primal need for aggression that provides an all-too-brief escape from confronting hard questions about their identity, their very reason for existing.

I dont nt get why the lunatic right seems to think that being Anti-Fascist is a derogatory term, but Pete Hegseth seems to equate Anti-Fascism (American Policy since 1941) with Pro-Fascism (American Policy since 2017)

You know what gets me as much as anything? There are no hoods on these people. White supremacists used to be concerned with hiding their identities, and that was before people around the world could work on identifying them within minutes of their picture being taken. Not anymore.
