Important part of that graph is that Putin still has negative rating among Republicans. This is a fissure that won't go away, as Putin is unlikely to act more pleasantly in the future.

I wouldn't expect a high volume restaurant, in a tourist attraction, to be very good.

But, as usual, the author's complete contempt for all things Trump is exactly what led people to vote for Trump.

I also know that if the author finds hummus or ricotta to be an exotic ingredient, she isn't fit to review restaurants.

The dumplings, for instance, come with soy sauce topped with truffle oil, and the crostini is served with both hummus and ricotta, two exotic ingredients that should still never be combined.

Let's assume that Trump rolls on his back, and lets Putin rub his tummy.

How would that be any different that the deference Obama showed him for eight years? Did we stand up to him anywhere?

Fuck, it was four years into his presidency when Obama -- and ALL of his supporters -- were mocking Romney for calling Russia our number one geopolitical adversary.

It's been 140 days since Trump held a press conference. How long will it be before he does one?

Administrations since the end of the Cold War have all tried to have improved relations with Russia. Such efforts have all failed, because the interests of the two countries are completely different. Russia (not just Putin, most ordinary Russians, too) want to restore the influence Russia had in Soviet times. The US wants the post-Cold War status quo as far as is possible. Trump's administration will run into this problem as well. Most ordinary Americans will not like the idea Russia is pushing us around. In fairness, Putin might be more content with the status quo of 2017 than formerly. But sooner or later, Russia and the US will have a strong disagreement. Can't be helped.

Another silly stab at subversion. "Exotic" in this sense simply means "characteristic of a distant foreign country."

Julia Ioffe Fired Over Obscene Ivanka Trump Tweet

Not hard to figure out the problem most people have with (((Julia Ioffe))).

BTW, the pansy-ass pussy-ass major "liberal" websites (Kos, Slate and Salon) are scrupulously avoiding any mention whatsoever of the incident. Not One Word.

Numke numke on any nasty talk about the Pretty Princess.

(Or her fucking slobbering pig pervert father.)

Be Careful. Things are changing in about four weeks. Bigly.

Star, this is not so. Twitter is full of this issue from writers on those sites. Conservative writers also denouncing. Plus Ioffe already headed for better job at Atlantic. PS: If you think Slate is "liberal" you may want to recalculate.

You don't need to stand up to the bear, if you don't poke him, wake him from his slumber and rile him in the first place.

We poke him with NATO expansion. We basically are the cause of the birth of ISIS, which is a lot closer to his border than ours. We poke him with US aiding Georgian rebels. We poke him by ousting the Ukraine leader and installing our puppet and causing a civil war. We poke him by fucking with his ally in Syria. He responds to the poking. Then we demand our president "stand up" to him.

And all this happens AFTER Russia helps the U.S. in Afghanistan, providing troops, arms and intelligence that saved hundreds of American lives. And AFTER the U.S., under Bush43, shows its gratitude by withdrawing from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. THAT's where things started going sour, and not only has America not lifted a finger to repair the damage, it keeps pouring gasoline on the flames.

i.e. Russia bankrupt and on its knees.

Ain't gonna happen. That was Putin's pledge 16 years ago. "Never again" will the Russian people witness the collapse of their state (which they saw twice in the 20th century).

    Overton Window.

Twitter of course is buzzing over the Ioffe flap, but the major lib sites are all basically pretending it never happened, because they don't want to dare speak the words.

Or maybe they've been told they'd be much better off (in a few weeks) to ACT like it never happened.

Amusing tidbit yesterday about Team Dumpf cutting off access to Twitter because they didn't give him a "Crooked Hillary" emoji during the campaign.
