YF runs into some problems here because he's a joiner on a site where, although most people do vote Democrat, people come from a profession of non-joiners. He's much more dedicated to the partisan battle lines than most of us.

 

He can't. We've been through this. It's the same reason why the Secret Service paid rent to Joe Biden.

It also runs counter to the "Trump doesn't know anything" argument.

Trump is a news junkie. It's just that he's largely a Fox News junkie, so his point of view is skewed. Sure, he reads the Times when they write about him, but not so much otherwise.

 

I'd take that bet. I can see him jokingly using anti-Semitic slurs or laughing at friends telling Truly Tasteless Jokes about the kikes.

 

I don't think it runs counter to that argument at all. I know people who read and watch a lot about baseball, for example, who don't know shit about baseball.

Read letters to the editor some time to see how much "news junkies" actually "know" about current events.

One problem with Trump is he half-listens. So he watches a lot of news, but he's pretty ADHD, so it's not like he's thinking about these things or pursuing different threads.

 

Just like my mom and dad, before they croaked. Awesome. I didn't think they were fit to be president either.

I don't think so. I think he takes a ton of pride in not being racist.

 

I'm very comforted that our president is Archie Bunker Racist rather than Full-Blown Racist. It's very comforting.

 

He's an "I have black friends" racist, if at all.

I'm not saying it's comforting.

It's a data point.
