I agree. And Trump would deserve credit if it happens, which, alas, will probably not happen. Ryan already against it.

Let's stay on a path of running up trillions of dollars of debt at an escalating and unsustainable pace, and expanding the money supply at an insane pace to monetize more and more debt. ... because without doing that at this point, and destroying the value of the dollar, we can't do it anymore.

I personally agree that the "debt ceiling" was a silly construct. But from a practical standpoint, it at least became a roadblock that forced us to acknowledge our recklessness and have a conversation at regular intervals. It SHOULDN'T be easy for politicians to rob our collective future for short-sighted and corrupt politically-motivated handouts that they find expedient for their purposes in the moment. It's how we end up with trillions of dollars of spending every year that we can't pay for, a decade-long economic depression that we put ourselves in by trying to monetize more and more debt, and our currency losing its value rapidly (being done deliberately, rather than facing the consequences of our behavior) -- robbing all of us stealthily to keep up a false appearance and to try to keep kicking the can down the road for as long as possible.

Sticking your head in the sand is not leadership OR a good idea.

As much as I dislike DeVos and think what happened at Baylor is awful, the Obama DOE's "dear colleague" letter desperately needs review. While well meaning, it has created havoc in campus judicial hearings and only worsened the phenomenon of college women seeking justice outside the actual justice system, which is imperfect but far better equipped than a disparate collection of professors.

    Good.

(Not the rape coming back part.)

Even far-left publications like Slate have decried the trampling of due process in some of these schools' policies.

I'm on the fenceline here. On the one hand there's some really, really bad policy that might be fixed. On the other, the Amway heiress fixing it might not have passed her EdD research methods comp. Quite the conundrum.
