Did he break the law? No. But he has absolutely no room to claim moral superiority on this or any other issue. If you're going to claim to be exceptional, you need proof. If you're the greatest ever, why didn't you do the courageous thing and decline the academic option for avoidance of military service? I would have done exactly as Trump did. But I'm not claiming to be a super patriot. Just a normal one.

No, we haven't gone backwards in our goals. We're just up against a political movement that is exploiting a particularly loud bunch of resisters -- white supremacists, Nazis, plain old racists, etc. -- who know they're nearing the end of a losing battle. Racial equality remains a prerequisite for the "color blind" society you desire so much.

    Perhaps it's light-hearted humor. And good-natured needling.

Are people arguing that trump is anything but a gold-plaited turd? If so, they are morons

Which, as a Republican, should painfully embarrass you. Instead, you cheer. That’s proof that you believe the conservative platform is “LOL.”

You elected a parody of a Republican as president. Donald Trump is no more a conservative than Bill Clinton. And his flaws can’t be crisis-communicated away.

The damage this man is doing to the party is substantial. Hope that Supreme Court seat was worth it.

I'm less convinced than ever it's a losing battle.
They've got a mix of the youth infusion of disaffected men, the belief of powerful conservatives that it's better than losing to liberals, and the people who want to believe that "both sides"ing leaves them above the fray. The white nationalist fascist movement in America has some real legs.

I think the President eventually even exhausts his base with his rhetoric. He'll keep starting fires with new targets, getting new groups especially riled up (immigrants, the NFL, health care recipients, nature lovers, educators...) while his core support has to defend each new attack.

Steelers to spend national anthem in locker room. This is smart. Avoids the optics of some players standing while others kneel.

The NFL thing is the first time we've seen the possibility of what could really take Trump down. A group of super wealthy businessmen deciding he's bad for their business. If other businesses start to feel the same way, and health insurance companies seem on their way there, the strongest prop of the Republican party will be a wobbly one.
