I just don't see how this'll change the actual issue. It's not protest. It's policy. (Or lawsuits.)

 

Curious - when did anthem playing become routine? Wondering about the history of it.

 

It appears the first time was 1918 during the 7th inning stretch of a Cubs-Red Sox game, during World War 1. It wasn't officially adopted as the National Anthem until 1931.

I think, and could be wrong, it pretty much became an every-game thing during World War II.

This is my problem with Trump. No one exercising his or her Constitutional rights is a "son of a bitch." I disagree with Kapernick's original premise for kneeling because he went on record as saying it was because of institutional racism and at the time, the country had a black President and a black Attorney General. You can't have "institutional racism" in that case. But he's not an SOB for kneeling, nor is anyone else.

 

And the due process argument is one that is too complicated for most voters to wrestle with.
