President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

They have, but there are about fifty helicopters working on it, compared to three hundred that were in Houston. I understand that access is a problem, it is indeed an island... but we *can* get things moving there, and talk publicly about what is being done and when to expect the next waves of relief to get there.

Drones could be used for recon, but small planes are already there, the Navy can use air assets on site and true recon planes have the range to cover Puerto Rico from the mainland. They can likely get satellite imagery as well, assuming that we have some in orbits that cover the area.

 

Seriously? You're going to get food and water to three and a half million people using air drops?

That's like the "1.3 million meals are on the way to the island". Great, that's one meal for less than half of the population, most of whom you can't get the meals to. What next?

Trump needs to be showing active leadership as well as sympathy and compassion. Instead it's the usual "My people are doing a fabulous job" combined with blaming the victim.

I wonder what legal excuse the Trump administration will use to prevent Puerto Ricans, American citizens all, from relocating to the mainland where they could become voters.

They are people who wish they could be assholes to everyone in their lives but know they'd be punched often if they were, so they use Trump as their vicarious asshole.

 

The racist wing has overtaken the good. To believe this, all you have to do is look at GOP love for Roy Moore and compare it to their response to Todd "Legitimate Rape" Akin, from whom they pulled funding. As long as it has the Republican brand, it's OK. Trump is never wrong. Just ask him. And then you can ask the cast of cowards covering for him.

 

Trump is the ultimate troll, those that support him are just sheep and not worth responding to in a civilized manner. Trump and his sheep have never had a rational or intelligent point of view, just pablum for the greedy few and loser white trash and what Gee said

 

He has said all that, and the Mayor, who hasn’t visited the FEMA command center, blasted Trump.

 

Absolutely right. I have no idea what could be done or how the logistics can be improved. Not my lane.
But if you're POTUS, you don't bash those who are suffering even if their criticisms are unfair or unreasonable. You understand that they may have a little more stress in their lives than you have from your golf club. And you give then a pass. Just this once. We know they're black and brown and therefore unworthy of the same respect accorded to white people in Trump's deranged mind, but just for once, be human. That's what we're asking of the leader of the free world.
