I don't base my beliefs about America or anything else on what Trump says. You'd have to be lazy, stupid and/or ignorant to do such a thing. Deranged in a way.

 

You are following their lead. That's the point that you refuse to see.

I will agree that there seems to be a zeal for authoritarianism in this country, but it's not Trump that is at the forefront.

 

Why would they hate a country that is doing what you say?

 

I was driving through the southern US recently, and I was stunned, flipping through the radio dial, how many Christian stations there are, playing the same Godly music and screaming out the same passages of the Bible, intertwined with conservative talking points, which these days is mostly "anti-libtard" awfulness.

If you drove through Saudi Arabia, say, and heard the Muslim equivalent, you'd think "What a bunch of scary whackadoodles." But because it's Christian, and familiar, it's just part of the daily noise for some large percentage of Americans rather than evidence of some serious national lunacy.

It's terrifying.

 

Because power is a zero-sum game.
