Why should they? The Democrats have their own candidate, and presumably they think he's best. It's up to Republicans to choose between Republicans.

If so, why not join hands with like minded democrats and elect Busby?

Many republicans aren’t going to vote for Busby if it’s just going to help elect an abortion absolutist like Doug Jones. But they would if polls showed enough Dems supporting Busby to give him a chance to win.

It seems like it was very easy for Dems to tell Republicans to vote for their candidate to keep a child molester out of the Senate. But, here’s a chance to put a third candidate in. It just requires Dems to vote for someone other than their preferred candidate. Why won’t they do it. It’s almost like trying to win the seat, even if it risks seating a child molester, is more important.

 

Dick, there's so many things you either don't get or you claim not to get, you really should give up that line of attack. Just shrug your shoulders to yourself.

 

I make arguments, people respond. A couple hundred people seem to enjoy it. One guy thinks he’s Jack London and spends a considerable amount of his time here quoting movies to show how tough he is. And then there’s you, seemingly offended the very idea of debate on the merits. Like everything else, of course, you don’t have to explain nothin’ to nobody.

This is nonsense. Why should the Democrats abandon their candidate who's in a close race (as far as we know, special election polling is hard) he might win? Your argument is basically Democrats should not compete in Alabama. A write-in campaign for an unknown if worthy candidate that starts two weeks before Election Day is about the longest shot there is. Besides, I'd bet the last thing this dude wants is organized Democratic support.
