OK, thank you. For the record you support killing special needs children through abortion. You must be so proud.

Does Iceland have a law requiring women to have an abortion, or are women with potential Downs fetuses choosing to have one? There's a big difference there.

Plus, if you're not sure how it would be enforced, then doesn't that indicate that it's a bad law? Not just constituionally, but practically?

Nope. I support women having the right to choose to have an abortion until the point of viability (which is scientifically in dispute right now) for whatever reason she chooses. Doesn't matter if they are special needs fetuses or not.

    See? No discrimination.

BTW, did Ohio also allocate more funds for the additional resources that will be needed to help care for the additional Downs kids that are born?

Who is using abortion to get rid of special needs individuals?

That is such a fucking lame talking point. Just another dodge to avoid admitting to yourself what you are advocating. As the saying goes, "If you wait until you can afford children ... you'll never have them." Guess we could change it to "If you don't think you can afford a special needs child, it's perfectly acceptable to kill it!"

Also, it's disingenuous of you to argue that because I know you understand the vast network of resources this country has for special-needs children. Frankly, you arguing that so you can stick to your abortion bona fides is truly unfortunate.

Nope. Like my point about enforcement, it's about practicality.

Like I said, this is feel-good legislation that they did so they can boast to their constituents that they actually did something. Never mind that it can't really be enforced, and that even if it somehow was able to be enforced, it doesn't address the practical needs that will arise from their legislation.

They passed a law without knowing how it will work, and didn't bother to prepare themselves for anything beyond their stupid Mission Accomplished moment.

So, @QYFW, I ask this genuinely: Are you against pre-natal testing for things like Down's syndrome?

No. I think people should be as prepared as possible. I have experience with let's say less-than-ideal circumstances with pregnancies and abortion was never considered.

Legality is tricky, but I don't think trying to keep special-needs children from being thrown away for the sake of convenience is a stupid endeavor.

You do realize that you were able to never consider an abortion because the right to choose to have one is legal, right?

They're using the special needs issue as an emotional wedge to open up the opportunity to ban all abortions, that's all.

Otherwise, one could say that they're against special needs kids being aborted, but they're fine with non-special needs kids bing aborted.
