President Donald Trump claimed in a November speech promoting his tax plan that his focus “is on helping the folks who work in the mailrooms and the machine shops of America. … The people that like me best.”

"According to the Tax Policy Center (TPC), the top 1 percent of families by income would receive a larger share of the bill’s cuts in the first year than the bottom 60 percent of families combined. And in fact, state-level data from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) show that in 2019, the bill would give $5 billion more to foreign investors who own corporate stock than the combined families in the bottom 80 percent of the income distribution in every state that voted for President Trump."

It's not mocking the recipients; it's mocking the corporations for their self-congratulory statements.

@QYFW and other self-loathing, middle-class conservatives don't have a problem with that. Wealth inequality creates incentives for competition (over the leftover crumbs).

No self-respecting country is going to make decisions based on hot-air threats from Donald Trump. The rest of the world is just waiting till he's out an office, the way you hold your breath till a fart dissipates.

Says the guy whose country abstained rather than voting decisively one way or the other.

Of course we abstained. Why should we answer Trump's call to do anything? This will all be over soon.

Might plus moral authority is a powerful combination. Might alone? That's just a bully. Nobody likes a bully.

LOL. Your county backed down to Trump, and is terrified about the NAFTA negotiations, as thousands of Canadian jobs are poised to move across the boarder to the US.
