He's not racist though! And you don't have to be super racist to support him! Just kind of racist!

It's a shame that even the NYT won't dare to print an accurate headline. "Sources Say Trump Made Racist Statements at Immigration Meeting"

Remember, we don't *know* that the President is racist. Maybe there's some reason he constantly makes racist statements, but we can't know his heart.

Besides, the bar for being a racist is so high unless he's wearing a Klan robe, burning a cross and lynching a black man, he's not racist to some people.

Now now. I'm sure there are some "very fine people" doing KKK cosplay and wearing those robes ironically so we still can't say they are all white supremacists. Maybe they're using Nazi symbols accidentally, like Mike Cernovich and Sebastian Gorka. Who is to say, really?

Why do you think so many Nigerians ask for our help unlocking funds from American bank accounts? To escape the huts.

The bar is even higher than I thought, I guess.

All depends on how you're defining the word. My world view says this is ethnocentrism and not racism. He's not suggesting all black people have aids or live in huts. He's suggesting all people from black third world nations have aids or live in huts. You might argue that one is as ignorant as the other. But they represent the same sentiment only if we agree that the meaning of words is relative. I would argue that they are not relative, and that, "America, Fuck Yeah!," is a wholly different statement than, "White People, Fuck Yeah!" And I think conflating the two only serves to hinder one's ability to combat both.

I'm not sure what specific portion of that you were responding to.

If you think those comments, when they're about people from overwhelmingly black countries, aren't racist... or saying that Africans live in huts... I mean. What? Just because he's not talking about black Americans doesn't mean it's not racist to talk about black people that way.

I mean, he's sure as shit not talking about Swedes that way, is he?
