Too much of risk, I would think.

 

Seems like this is going to backfire in a big way. They're in control of all three branches of the government but still politically weak. And they're trying to bargain with two programs that are hugely popular and affect hundreds of thousands of people.

Doesn't seem like a good move.

 

The mail will still be delivered tomorrow. I'm good.

 

Shutdown largely doesn't affect me personally, either. Certainly doesn't mean it should happen.

The Mueller investigation will continue during a shutdown, so that's not an issue.

 

When Trump wakes up and realizes he’s not at Mar-A-Lago, the tweetstorm will be epic.

 

Oh, he'll still manage to get there in time for that $100,000 a plate fundraiser, no worries.

 

Dems from states that Trump won, who have to face the voters, sure don’t want to be on record voting for a shutdown.

 

... which was the object all along. It’s all theater.

 

Gotta disagree. CHIP and DACA are huge issues that need to be addressed. The hostage situation created by the GOP is not acceptable.

Sure, Dems in red states played it safe. That's not shocking in the least.

We never should have been here. CHIP and DACA should have never been on the table. The republicans badly misplayed this.

 

While it was likely the politically "safe" thing to do, there is a pretty big risk of getting attacked by even lefter lefties in the primaries. It's not quite as cut and dried as you might think.
