People *still* don't get that enthusiasm matters more than convincing people. Elections are decided by turnout, not by convincing.

What Graham and others seem to forget is that to grant the Dreamers permanent legal status, and a pathway to citizenship, is a compromise for republicans, and they're going to want something -- border security -- in return.

Since both parties claim to be for border security, you'd think this would be easy to solve. That it's not shows the truth about the issue for democrats.

But, democrats, and Lindsey Graham, also forget who has the leverage here. If there's no deal, it's the Dreamers who lose. If they want to protect the Dreamers, they'll cut a simple deal, that will grant to the Dreamers more than they've ever been offered previously.

And, trying to tie it to a budget resolution isn't going to work.

The border security issue should be easy to to solve because Mexico was going to pay for it.

Schumer offered Trump the Wall and was still turned down.

If the dreamers do lose, it is only going to please about 35% of the voters. Who loses then?

Wait. So the FBI deciding that the general election meant it was important to move forward with an investigation into Clinton, the improper resolution of which probably cost her the election, is somehow proof that they were working against Trump?

You guys get worse every spin cycle.

Beat me to it. This is when the Millers, Kellys and some Senators get in Trump's ear.

Trump isn't dictating policy. Every time he agrees with something two hours later the deal is repudiated and a much harsher one takes its place. Trump goes whichever way the wind blows, and they control the winds in the WH. A major complaint is that no one knows what Trump really wants or will agree to... because that depends on who got to him last or what Fox and Friends says.

Easier explanation: Trump's mental illness causes him to want to feel admired by whoever is talking to him, so he will make a deal. But once they are gone, he reverts to his real beliefs.

What was the rest of the deal? Schumer didn't lay that out.

And, let's be real, if granting the dreamers permanent legal status, and a pathway to citizenship, was so vital to the nation's voters, republicans wouldn't be seeking concessions from democrats.

Voters aren't against letting the dreamers stay, but it's not a top priority, and the polls that show that it is, word the question in a way that does not reflect the true choices available.
