Trump has done hundreds of depositions. He has stated that for many of them he has done little preparation, but I have to believe that for this one he'd be willing to sit down and drill with his attorneys. He *might* get to talking, or a series of questions might be sufficient to provoke him to say more than he intended, but this is one arena where he has substantial experience in self-control.

Trump just dealt a major blow to the fastest-growing job market in the US

The Solar Energy Industries Association estimates that the new tax will cost about 23,000 jobsin 2018, since fewer people are expected to buy panels at the higher price. (For a typical rooftop-style 250-watt solar panel, the price hike comes out to about $25 extra dollars a piece.) The job losses could include solar panel installers, manufacturers who make metal racks for holding the cells, and companies supplying add-on parts like inverters and machines that track the sun to improve cell performance.

US solar-cell producers, who this tariff is designed to help, employed 1,300 workers at their peak in 2012, according to the Associated Press. But the larger industry related to solar installation and solar energy in the US employs roughly 200 times that number of people. Currently, 260,000 people work in the US solar industry, earning between $26 and $45 dollars an hour on average, according to a recent report from the Environmental Defense Fund.

According to a US Bureau of Labor Statistics analysis from October, solar photovoltaic installer was ranked the fastest-growing occupation, with an estimated growth rate of 105% between 2016 and 2026.

And, the articles get worse as they get further from the original source.

The CBP did not conform to anyone that they asked everyone on board for proof they were in the country — though they could have. And, the video posted doesn’t show that either.

It looks like they boarded to detain a specific individual, who they had already iidentified.

The e-mail didn’t address whether or not the agents asked everyone on board for proof of citizenship, but named parts of federal law that give vast powers to Border Patrol agents.

The subject was an adult female that had overstayed her tourist visa. She was arrested and transported to the Dania Beach Border Patrol station for further investigation and later turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) for removal proceedings.”

Border Patrol agents boarded a bus and asked for citizenship papers. Is that legal?

Thankfully, the President is entitled to fire the FBI Director and his NSA for any reason, or no reason at all.

Is that out of line?

 

Sure. And the citizens and the Congress are entitled to hear and weigh his reasons for doing so. If they are not legitimate, he also gets to face the political blow-back.
