You've already been asked several times how this extra security will be paid for. Kindly answer.

Being expected to abide by basic safety restrictions as part of your duty to society, such as not being able to own killing machines, is not a "punishment."

Stop with the "gun-free" angle. Tighter regulations and background checks are common sense.

That "well-regulated militia" stuff should make it clear that "well-regulated" calls out for responsible controls.

What is more important than protecting children? Governments on every level find ways for pay for things that matter to them. Our federal government never restricts itself. “How will you pay for it?” is not only the last refuge of an idiot stuck in a political argument he can’t get out of, in this instance it’s a despicable reply.

Because here's the truth of the matter:

I'm going to vote in the next election, and the one after that, and the one after that, for politicians who will vote for these things. Including increased budgets for schools.

You aren't. You can talk about security, or mental health screenings, or whatever you want. But your politicians won't actually put those things up for a vote, and they'll block the funding to do them if they ever do come up. And you'll vote for them anyway.

One of us is despicable on this issue. It isn't me.

Also, "law-abiding" gun owners should be leading the charge to weed out sociopaths owning guns.

Oh, Rick, you should get out more. People are a lot more complex than you think.

All we've heard for the last 40 years is conservatives complaining that taxes are too high. They've even demonized "tax and spend liberals."

Asking how extra security would be paid for to a group that complains constantly about taxes is a legitimate question, not despicable.

I can't wait to see how this Congress funds infrastructure repairs.
Jobs good. Bridges not collapsing good. But count on Congress to fuck it up.

Too many of the ‘law abiding’ gun owners, not the majority, would not be qualified to own a gun if there were common sense regulations. people with convictions for assaults, violence or intoxicated criminal behavior could not get a gun. Self defense weapons should be limited to handguns and shotguns. Hunting weapons should be reasonably related to the hunting license one holds. Do real hunters use AR15 in central Florida for hunting?
