Trump doesn't seem nearly clever or charismatic enough to be the anti-Christ. So maybe Earth survives for four more years. ... Unless Pence is the AC!

    Nope.

Philadelphia lawyer dictionary definition | Philadelphia lawyer defined
Informal a clever, shrewd, or tricky lawyer, esp. one skilled in taking advantage of legal technicalities

William Safire traced its origins, once of respect but then a pejorative:

    Philadelphia Lawyers

''The new violation ticket will be in quadruplicate,'' wrote The Chicago Times in 1947, ''and traffic officials say it takes a 'Philadelphia lawyer' to fix it.'' The sense has moved to ''one expert in the exploitation of technicalities to get around the law,'' and if you're not happy with that, sue me -- truth is my defense, not to mention an absence of malice.

Woody Guthrie sang about the Philadelphia lawyer who stole the cowboy's wife. "Philadelphia Lawyer" by Woody Guthrie

As he drew near her window,
    Two shadows he saw on the shade;
    'Twas the great Philadelphia lawyer
Makin' love to Bill's Hollywood maid.

    ...

Now tonight back in old Pennsylvania,
    Among those beautiful pines,
    There's one less Philadelphia lawyer
    In old Philadelphia tonight.

Never heard of that. I just remember when Stan Kasten ran the Hawks and Braves, his business card read: "Stan Kasten, Smart-Ass New York Lawyer."

    Divorced multiple times? Check

Had multiple business deals fail? Check

    Friends with Vince McMahon? Check

    Yep. There's definitely a resemblance.

That was a quote from the column, written by somebody who understands the intel community far more than you or I ever will.

Yep, this is our Brexit -- "American voters say, what have we done?"

This new poll has all kinds of bad news for Donald Trump

Although 59 percent were optimistic about the next four years under Trump in November, today that number is 52 percent. While 41 percent thought he would be a better leader than President Obama, it’s now 34 percent. While 52 percent thought he would help the nation's economy, it’s now 47 percent. While 40 percent thought his policies would help their personal financial situation, it’s now 27 percent. While 53 percent thought he’d take the country in the right direction, it’s now 45 percent.

You get the idea. There are similar drops in views of his honesty (42 percent to 39 percent), his leadership skills (56 percent to 49 percent), his compassion for average Americans (51 percent to 44 percent), his levelheadedness (38 percent to 33 percent) and his ability to unite the country (47 percent to 40 percent).

Amazing how that goes when he no longer gets to stand in comparison to Hillary Clinton.

Mildly good news for the Dems. When he's not standing next to Hillary, Trump is even more unpopular.

It's sad but once again I have to reach for a West Wing quote. Just operating on his own, he doesn't need an opposition.

[EDIT: No. I really had that thought too....]
