They took a poll in Britain last year where about a third of respondents said they'd still support Brexit even if they lost their own jobs because of it. Those are the hopeless cases. There are many other people for whom the circumstances of their own lives matter more than their prejudices (we've all got 'em, I'm not criticizing in this case).

Exactly. The Dems could nominate Roy Cooper or Ralph Northam and they probably wouldn't do much better than Hillary Clinton.
