    He's part of the media.

    She's part of the media.

Those last two tweets you posted are media members calling out "the media."

Revealed: 50 million Facebook profiles harvested for Cambridge Analytica in major data breach

What are the Cambridge Analytica Files?
Working with a whistleblower who helped set up Cambridge Analytica, the Observer and Guardian have seen documents and eyewitness reports that lift the lid on the data analytics firm that helped Donald Trump to victory. The company is currently being investigated on both sides of the Atlantic. It is a key subject in two inquiries in the UK - by the Electoral Commission, into the firm's possible role in the EU referendum and the Information Commissioner's Office, into data analytics for political purposes - and one in the US, as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Trump-Russia collusion.

    What does that mean, seriously?

Media and journalism are not synonymous

. Hiusley is a paid opinionist, to be kind. A professional partisan public relations advocate to be objective. Like so many on the right. FoxNews is professional partisan advocacy and political response. I don’t Believe CNN is a counter weight to Fox, nor is MSNBC. There is no cable counter weight. It’s also important to remember that they get 2.5 million viewers during prime time, 60%+ over 55 years old. About 1% of the eligible workforce. Defined as 15-64 years of age. To say no one watches them is wrong, but the overwhelming majority doesn’t. And more those that do, don’t watch anything else. The rest of the broadcast news journalism is homogenous and its aggregate viewership dwarfs Fox. Nice numbers in a declining business model. But preaching to the choir never converted a sinner.

People also either hate tweet or follow those on their bubble. Frankly, if you look at trump’s tweet replies, it’s more negative that positive.

This Cambridge Analytica story is a very big deal. How many times have I heard "But how could the Russians target specific counties, or specific groups, trying to get them to vote for Trump, or not to get out to vote for Hillary?". If you can accurately microtarget the voters that you are interested in, and then see that they see targeted ads, and then further refine it by seeing which ads are most effective using data and use those ads more, you can cause a statistically significant swing in the vote totals. You can also swing a state or two...

Remember that CA is owned by the Mercers.

I think Trump's base do their own communicating via Facebook. He won votes by implicitly telling people it was OK to be a bigot in public and by the lie he'd never let anyone cut entitlements. Cambridge Analytica is one of those things political insiders make more important than it really is. Remember, it sure didn't help Ted Cruz any.

Here's the thing about hand-wringing like this. What is said here could absolutely happen ... but I don't know if you'll have a "told you so" moment. Because ... you know ... we'll probably all be melted corpses. So what's the point, really. Frankly, I'd rather be displaying gallows humor or trolling each other.

I don't want to d_b, did we mention Donald Jr.'s impending divorce? Now, there's news that moves the needle.

Interesting that she hired a criminal lawyer to do her divorce.
