President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

These arcane off-topic discussions are my favorite part of the politics thread. They reveal so much more about us as individuals than the usual stuff.

 

Michelle Malkin's typically loathsome use of "scalp" in her tweet got me lost in the weeds of Shania Twain's debatable Native ancestry. She's the Elizabeth Warren of Canadian music.

 

How does she fill the seats in Winnipeg, though?

 

I once spent a very pleasant evening with Shania Twain. Her sister was also there, down from Timmins. The sister used the word "Oriental" to describe an Asian person. Not out of animus, I don't think. She just thought that was the word. The Twains are legitimately country people. I suspect they would have all voted for Trump.

 

So we're all in agreement that John Bolton is Mitch McConnell with fake eyebrows and mustache, right?

 

Another former official who was associated with the project told me, acidly, “In Afghanistan, H.R. used to talk about ‘criminal corruption networks.’ Now he works for one.”

 

Except for Reagan and Trump, isn't Malkin opposed to show folk expressing political opinions generally?
