Consumer Financial Protection Bureau AND Office of Management and Budget head Mick Mulvaney told the American Bankers Association annual meeting that when Mulvaney was in Congress, he would not meet with any lobbyist until that lobbyist contributed to his campaign. That's simple corruption. He belongs in federal prison. And he bragged about it. If a former constituent took him off the count, I'd be hard pressed to vote guilty on the jury.

I'm not so sure that's a "lone exception."

There's so much going on in this photo. You have Melania telling Donald that he's not shoveling correctly. You have Donnie with a half shovel of dirt, while Macron has a heaping full shovel. And Trump looks like he's straining with that half-shovel while Macron is easily picking up the full shovel. Trump looks like he lacks stamina here.

Our politics may be irrevocably broken, but we'll always have oop.

Pay for play is against the law. A government official soliciting campaign donations in his official capacity, which Mulvaney also did, is against the law. He's a crook. Nothing will come of it, because the Republican party does not believe in the rule of law, just that they should rule. But if/when the worm turns, Mulvaney will be headed for Danbury.

First, the Supreme Court--in a unanimous decision--held that the federal bribery statute is narrower than you seem to think it is.

Second, the Hatch Act is not a criminal statute.
