Of course. You'd think this would be right up their wheelhouse. You'd figure they could instantly come up with a bunch of candidates who might not idologically be the cup of tea for liberals, but who would be functionally qualified for the job.
But Dumpf's alt-right cabal is fixated on proving The Guvvmint suxx so much, the last thing they want to do is put anybody actually qualified in charge of any Guvvmint agency.

They want it all to crash and burn so they can tell Teh Libz they told them so.

Well, in this particular case it's because the Senator A) wants to stay in the Senate (because he's likely hoping Trump loses in four years and he can run in eight) and B) he sees AG as beneath him.

 

Now we know why Trump made such a big deal about FBI INVESTIGATION! on Clinton's email servers.

Once again, everything with him is about projection, because of his mental illness.
